DaCast’s first newsletter, which lays out the objective of future newsletters, celebrates the release of the new interface for DaCast broadcasters. It also highlights the recently release schedule feature, which allows presales for a timed release of live or on demand content.
DaCast is moving forward in 2012 with a fresh new look as a dedicated platform to deliver a complete Streaming as a Service solution. To keep our broadcasters on top of things, we are starting a monthly newsletter with this being the first edition. Expect to see features, tips for using the platform, events DaCast will be at, webinars, success stories and more highlighted each month.
Last month, DaCast greatly altered the look of the broadcaster interface. With that also came new pricing options. This raised the minimum to get started, but also drastically reduced prices through the introduction of monthly plans. Even the Starter plan, at $29, features savings of around 20% compared to our original pricing. For those who still want to use pay as you go, it remains and we have also added the same optional overage protection that the monthly plans offer. This allows broadcasters to select a payment method and have the system automatically purchase the designated bandwidth when they run out.
One of the new features rolled out last month was the ability to schedule pay per view events.
With this feature, broadcasters can select a specific start time and day. This is meant to make monetizing live streams simpler, as there is no longer any concern that viewers will try to watch the event before it begins. It also allows for timed releases with a pre-buy option for on demand content.
