Playlist Scheduler

Playlist Scheduler

DaCast offers a unique playlist scheduler for broadcasting accounts. This Playlist functionality allows the grouping of media for a seamless viewer experience for video streaming content.

Easy to Create

The Playlist Scheduler is simple to use and even easier to update. The Playlist Scheduler allows content to be dragged, dropped and moved around to directly control the order the viewer will experience each video. It allows content already on the system, such as files used for VOD streaming, to be grouped together and to play on a single feed like they were one video. For example, broadcasters can attach a logo video to a feed to brand media content quickly without having to edit the video.

Quick to Update

The Playlist Scheduler is flexible and easy to edit. Media content can be removed or added at any time, and the channel will be updated to reflect the content changes. This allows embedded videos on a site or Facebook page to adapt to the latest content without having to go in and change code or repost.

Monetizing Video from a Playlist

The monetization features available over the DaCast platform are completely compatible for Playlists. Attach ads, pay per views or subscriptions to a series of content to generate revenue. This makes it easy to develop premium content with the added viewer incentive of a lot of streaming content being available with a single purchase.

Customizable Start Time

Audiovisual material can be accessed at any time according to the viewer’s preference. However, it can also be selected by the broadcaster, determining a start time window. This can be used to not only create a live-like experience but also control for promotional means. For example, promotional content related to a concert can be programmed to start to play at the same time the concert begins for those unable to participate.

TV Channel Experience

Playlists function like traditional TV channels, allowing the broadcaster intimate control over their viewer’s experience. Not only is the order of media content decided upon by the broadcaster, but the ability to skim or skip content is disabled. For example, promotional or sponsor material can be highlighted while viewers won’t be able to skip this to access the content afterwards. Additional functionality can make this a more engaging and modern experience versus a traditional TV channel with commercials, such as the ability to add live chat while streaming.
