Organizations turn to DaCast to broadcast pay-per-view live content of Little League Softball World Series, 2012 Cal Ripkin World Series and Women’s Premier Soccer League national championship

SAN FRANCISCO, September 10, 2012

DaCast, the leading Streaming as a Service™ video platform, today announced that it partnered with the Little League Softball World Series (LLSWS), Winchester Community Access & Media (WinCam) and Sinclair Sports Network (SSN) to easily deliver professional pay-per-view video and live stream content to national and international audiences for little league, high school and college level sports.

The new DaCast payment platform is designed to make the sale and purchase of video and live stream content easy. Developed to work seamlessly with Facebook, DaCast’s video platform offers a media player fully equipped with a payment system capable of instantly processing payments for both Pay Per View (PPV) and subscription-based content. As a result, users no longer have to navigate out of Facebook to purchase and view content.

DaCast’s platform also enabled WinCam to stream the 2012 Cal Ripken World Series to national audiences to watch each live play of the 10 teams competing in capturing the championship. The live video stream supplemented its live radio stream and online scores and stats to give audiences a variety of choices to augment their viewing experience.

Finally, Sinclair Sports Network was able to stream live the recent Women’s Premier Soccer League national championship with DaCast, garnering a national and international audience. SSN was able to incorporate professional sportscast features such as instant replays into live streams as well as a paywall for monetization. DaCast’s built-in paywall let SSN as well as the LLSWS provide pay-per-view capabilities within the media player on a per game basis as it allows several flexible payment options to decide which payment model best suits each business and content format.

“We were excited to bring the Little League Softball World Series experience live to the fans and families of these talented young girls,” said Tim Jackson with Friends of Softball. “With DaCast’s platform, set-up was simple and packed with easy-to-use tools to bring the best live game experience to viewers around the world. The built-in pay-per-view revenue capabilities allowed us to generate donations in minutes and we look to use DaCast again next year.

“As a public access TV station and non-profit organization, WinCAM has to be very careful with production expenditures. DaCast’s paywall allowed us to recuperate thousands of dollars spent on production costs, and the platform made it very easy to deliver professional live stream coverage of the 2012 Cal Ripken Major 60 World Series to a national audience,” said David Gauthier, Executive Director of WinCAM. “We will definitely use DaCast in the future as we were extremely satisfied with the overall performance and high-quality video stream.”

“We broadcast sporting events featuring some of the most promising young athletes in our area and we were delighted to work with DaCast to share their triumphs with broader audiences,” said, Tom Sinclair, Sinclair Sports Network. “We’ve used lots of CDNs on the market and DaCast is the best in terms of price and flexibility. It is the ideal solution for a boutique sports broadcasting company such as ours.”

“We are pleased to serve the needs of organizations such as the Little League Softball World Series and small to medium broadcasters like Sinclair Sports Network and non-profits like WinCam to bring live streaming video to national and international audiences while still being able to monetize content,” said Stephane Roulland, CEO of DaCast. “Our aim is to make the distribution of premium video content simple, while bringing high-quality broadcasting and ad-free monetization capabilities to the industry for high-quality video over the web, Facebook or mobile.”

New DaCast Video Payment Platform for Facebook Helps Content Owners to Increase Audience Up to 10 Times

New payment platform is first to support all Facebook approved payment forms for video and live stream content

SAN FRANCISCO, August 8, 2012

DaCast, the leading Streaming as a Service™ video platform, today launches the first payment platform to accept all Facebook approved payment forms for video and live stream content. Content owners can now more easily monetize Facebook fans and tap into the one billion user marketplace to distribute and sell live concerts, sports and movies on a global scale.

Commenting on the recent trial of DaCast’s new Facebook-ready payment platform, Mark Daubeney of Skyroomlive.com and DaCast customer said: “DaCast took the headache out of integrating monetized live streaming with social media. This in turn enabled us to extend our audience between 5 and 10 times, while more effectively monetizing our fan base through Facebook. By having the ability to stream to a dedicated platform and easily accept payments via Facebook, we are able to improve conversion and monetize an even wider fan base, while making the payment process even easier.

DaCast’s payment platform is extremely flexible, enabling content owners to sell video and live stream content at varying rates. Viewers can then choose the price that best suits them. For example, a one-time PPV can be offered alongside a more comprehensive subscription. Other DaCast payment platform features include the ability to provide discounts, such as promo codes, which can be used over Facebook as well as other websites.

“Our original payment process filled a major gap in the online video market, enabling content owners to more effectively sell streaming content from within the media player. We have now taken that technology, adapted and enhanced it to improve the overall experience on Facebook. Consequently, content owners can now more easily sell video content through Facebook without fans navigating away to make a purchase, achieving up to 200% greater buy completion rate,” said Stephane Roulland, CEO of DaCast.

SAN FRANCISCO, November 16, 2011

DaCast, the first online video platform with a complete SaaS approach, today announces the results of the USA Ultimate Club Championships that were successfully live streamed with pay per view and over Facebook from the DaCast online video service.

“We were happy to team up with DaCast to stream out our annual Club Championships,” said Andy Lee, Director of Marketing and Communications for USA Ultimate. “We feel that we were able to provide our members and Ultimate fans around the world with the opportunity to watch Ultimate played at the highest level. The live broadcast effectively reached more than 100,000 views by our fans, with a peak of about 15,000 simultaneous viewers. Clearly, the investment was well worth it, considering the service we were able to provide to our current members and fans of the sport.”

The 2011 USA Ultimate Club Championships were presented live in two ways using DaCast’s unique Streaming as a ServiceTM approach. The first was a free, standard definition broadcast directly from Facebook. Fans of the USA Ultimate Facebook page were able to watch an unprecedented 12 games from the tournament, resulting in an additional 15,000 likes for the national governing body.

The second method was a high definition broadcast behind a paywall. The pay per view charge, which was $1.99 per day or $4.99 for the entire 12 match event, was set up by DaCast. Pay-in-Play, the company’s technology for capturing payments directly in the player, allowed the content to be viewed from USA Ultimate’s Facebook page without the need to visit another site or service.

The event was broadcast for four days from October 27th through October 30th at Sarasota, Florida. It included the Masters, Mixed, Open, and Women’s Divisions. For more information on the Championship, visitwww.usaultimate.org/competition/club_division/club_championships/

DaCast Introduces Streaming as a Service

DaCast Press

SAN FRANCISCO, October 13, 2011

DaCast announced today the release of “Streaming as a Service,” a totally automated, integrated and flexible solution for professional online broadcasting.

“Broadcasters no longer need to focus on the technical or resource heavy-aspects of streaming, but rather on their business”, said Stephane Roulland, CEO of DaCast. “Using the DaCast cloud, users can access all the services they need to start streaming and to begin making money immediately. Through Streaming as a Service, we are bringing high-quality broadcasting to a broader population where thousands of professionals can stream and monetize their content with minimal investment, thereby engineering a solution that does for streaming what Salesforce and Adwords did for their respective markets”.

With the Streaming as a Service approach, charges are linear to the broadcaster’s requirements, enabling a cost-effective solution where content creators only pay for what they need in a one-size-fits-all model that gives access to all the same tools and features.

The scalable and self-serve nature of the platform drastically reduces the cost of customer acquisition and management for broadcasters. It also gives them complete control of their environment, allowing them to substantially increase their performance.

DaCast offers a complete range of instantaneous broadcasting services all available through a cloud with no downloads required. This includes live streaming, playlists, a Flash player, Facebook embedding, multi-devices capability, transcoding, deep analytics, merchant account, and Pay-Per-View system.

Content owners also have the ability to develop their own paywalls with a completely automated and interconnected service without any license fees. Transactions are handled from an integrated merchant account and payment system called Pay-in-Play™, which registers purchases from inside a media player.

DaCast has launched its public API for live streaming into beta for interested partners. The public API lets media service providers offer DaCast technology to their own clients through a pure white label interface.
