DaCast offers a flexible service that has been created as a white label solution for large and small broadcasters alike. Logos, the look of the player and even the monetization can be customized and altered to support an existing or new brand.
The DaCast online video service is based on the concept of being a tool for a successful streaming content roll out. Having YouTube and other provider logos plastered on a video might be suitable for smaller sites, but there comes a time when a broadcaster wants to break away from promoting another service’s brand. Knowing this, the DaCast player can become an invisible solution where the logo and almost all association with the original company are removed.
The DaCast media player comes complete with a feature to upload a new logo that will be integrated with features. This logo is used in a variety of places, such as in the Pay-in-Play interface and as a thumbnail when the feed is published on Facebook.
The white label aspect of the service allows broadcasters to promote their own brand or sub brand. With the ability to create multiple channels, a single DaCast account can be used as a private label solution across several different brands.
To create a transparent streaming solution, the DaCast player is also customizable. The media player can be themed and altered to match the look and feel of an existing website, including changing colors and dimensions. Themes can also be saved on an account, making it quick and easy to have many channels use the same look and to create a consistent experience across broadcasted content.
The ability to change the dimensions, through altering the embed code, also makes the player perfect for audio streaming.
DaCast offers an integrated monetization platform for streaming that is available out of the box after signing up. This includes a variety of options such as pay per view monetization or utilizing ads. In the instance of transaction based monetization, where a payment has to be made to access the content, a unique payment system called Pay-in-Play is utilized. As mentioned, this feature can be supported with the broadcaster’s own logo and without direct reference to DaCast.
Due to legal obligations, where a party has to be represented on the transaction, the Pay-in-Play feature isn’t completely white label in all aspects. Depending on your solution, another company will be mentioned during this stage.
If the transaction uses a credit card, then DaCast will be referenced in e-mail sent receipts as the company will also appear on the credit card statement. For PayPal, this will be referenced to their service and site. For broadcasters not wishing to have DaCast mentioned at all, the ability to turn off credit card payments and just have PayPal as a payment option is possible. This offers a semi white label solution for monetizing video.
