DaCast Introduces Mobile Live Streaming Video Service

Easily publish high quality video from your website to smartphones or tablets

SAN FRANCISCO, November 5, 2013 – DaCast, the leading Streaming as a Service™ video platform for live streaming services, today announced the release of a completely mobile live streaming video service that will deliver rich video content to any device through a new agreement with Akamai® Technologies, Inc., the leading cloud platform for helping enterprises provide secure, high performing user experiences on any device.

With the new service, video broadcasters can publish live and on demand content directly from their own website and have the video be delivered seamlessly to all devices, including iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android.

Mobile Live Streaming Video Service

“Many video carriers are moving toward an all-in-one delivery solution”, said Stephane Roulland, CEO of DaCast. “DaCast is breaking the mold by offering this from a more affordable, do it yourself video platform. One that offers a unique mix of white label services and optional pay per view capabilities not found in the mobile space. Features that businesses of any size can tap into.”

Integrating Akamai’s world renowned content delivery network (CDN) and a dynamic, cross-platform approach into the SaaS platform with an HTML5 player, DaCast makes it easy for broadcasters to broaden their audience without sacrificing in-depth features such as player customization and video monetization. Through Akamai, who powers both Netflix and Apple, DaCast users have access to the world’s largest server infrastructure. This allows them to not only reach any device with a rich video experience, but also target the largest geographic distribution possible.

This new service is available directly from the DaCast cloud. This allows for do it yourself video management while presenting content in a wide range of places. Possible embed locations include broadcaster websites and Facebook pages.

“The value of a video platform is its ability to reduce the technical complexity and a means to effectively deliver that content to an end viewer”, said Aldric Feuillebois, CTO of DaCast. “With this new agreement and our unique approach to video delivery, we have removed the last of the barriers. This allows our expansive broadcaster base to reach an audience regardless of individual setup. It effectively overcomes the number one headache in the online video market today from the increasing rise of mobile devices.”

The new mobile services are available now for all existing and new DaCast users.
