      You are here:
      < Back

This will guide you through setting up your video preferences

      1. Login to your Dacast account at my.dacast.com
      2. Click on the icon on the left side of the New Back Office
      3. Select “Video Preferences”

In this section, there are 7 general options.
Let’s go through them one by one:

      • Autoplay
The video will start to play whenever someone visits a website that has the player embedded on it.
If the content is behind a paywall, the viewer will have to have already paid and be logged in.
Otherwise, they will be prompted to buy/login to view the content.
      • Publish Video
This will allow the broadcaster to automatically have their Channel/Content ready for viewing.
      • Auto Encode
Allows files to be encoded so they are compatible with our system.
      • Google Analytics
Linking your Google Analytics account to your Dacast account is a great way to collect more data on your traffic. For instance, it can give you a live viewer count through “Real-Time”.
      • Send Email After Upload
Dacast offers a feature to send you an email when a video file is done uploading. This email is sent when you are uploading a video using the “Auto Encode” feature.
Please note that by default this feature is turned OFF.
You can turn it ON whenever you decide to receive an email notification after an upload.
      • Send Email After Encoding
Dacast offers a feature to send you an email to confirm the end of your transcoding.
Please note that by default this feature is turned OFF.
You can turn it ON whenever you decide to receive an email notification after an encoding.
      • Publish Content to Dacast Viewer Portal
To have your content published on the Dacast Viewer Portal, some information are required:

        • Filling out the Company Profile section (MY ACCOUNT > COMPANY PROFILE)
        • Adding a Description (DESCRIPTION tab of content)
        • Uploading a Splash Screen (DESCRIPTION tab of content)

Please note that if you have opted out of having your content appear on viewer, it will not be indexed.

      • You can determine the default setup to all your content on those aspects:
        • Default Live Bitrate
        • Live Resolution
        • Player Size
        • Theme

Please click SAVE once your video preferences have been entered.
