Many broadcasters choose to live stream over Facebook with Dacast in order to maximize their viewership. To do so, you have three options: use a social share code, use multi-destination streaming, or use Switchboard Live.
Option 1: Use the Dacast iFrame Social Share Code
Start by setting up your live stream or uploading an on-demand video. Navigate to the live stream or video that you would like to share. Scroll down the page the Share settings and copy the link in the “Share Link” box:
Next, go to Facebook and start to make a post, either on your own wall or on your organization’s page. You also have the option to post on a friend’s wall. Paste the Share Link into the post and the title and splash screen of your video content should appear. You can add a caption to this if you want. When added, viewers can click a play icon in your post and launch the stream or the video in a new tab.
Option 2: Multi-Destination Streaming
This option allows you to launch a stream directly in your Facebook feed. It is based on the multi-destination streaming technique that can be directly set up in your encoder.
Option 3: Dacast and Switchboard Live Partnership
If you have a paying account with Switchboard Live, you can set up a live stream simultaneously to Dacast and Facebook in just a few clicks. You can access the video tutorial here.
